GLBT Issues
Sacramento's diversity is its strength. No one in our community should be discriminated against. I support the rights and obligations of same-sex couples in civil unions and domestic partnerships and will uphold and implement the newly passed Supreme Court ruling legalizing gay marriage. I oppose Prop 8, which would ban marriage equality. As an African American man, I know about discrimination. As Mayor, I will not tolerate discrimination or harassment of any kind. Four years from now, I guarantee I'll be considered one of the staunchest allies of the GLBT community. I will be relentless as I fight to defend the rights of all residents.
