Here's another chance to put Sacramento on the map and help a community organization -- something I've pledged to do as Mayor. Over at Sac State, students are competing in a global innovation competition and they need your help by noon on Thursday! The competition hosted by Stanford University (http://sen.stanford.edu/), challenged students to create as much value as possible using water bottles. According to the Sacramento News & Review, Sac State’s team met the challenge by creating a video about recycling (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adQBKv-SBjw), which members put together after two days of brainstorming while in-between midterms.
Here’s where you come into play: Whoever generates the most YouTube views (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adQBKv-SBjw) for their video by noon PST on Thursday, December 4 will win the Viral Marketing Award in the global competition.
Sac State is competing against more than 500 teams from 14 countries and is just a few clicks away!
Remember to watch the video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adQBKv-SBjw) all the way through or else the view might not be counted.
Paul Dickey says, “The university winner will not receive a free trip to Hawaii or scholarship prize money, only the right for Sacramento to receive world-wide recognition in the face of global competition."
Thank you, Mayor Johnson!
We are excited to have you as our new Mayor, and sincerely appreciate your support in the effort to raise awareness & promote Sacramento as the city that is green and recycles!
Oh behalf of Global Entrepreneurship Week (”GEW”) Team Sac State - Best Regards,
Paul Dickey

Dear Kevin, I can not tell you how excited I am to have you as mayor of Sacramento. Before the recent election I did not even know that we had a major since the passing of Joe Serna. I never heard any type of community support from Miss. Fargo and think that she was so far out of touch from were Sacramento should be and or could be. I was so happy to see you on the Oprah show in 2006 and mentioning of the Oak Park and Sacramento area. I lived at the Sacramento Childrens home as a child and attended CK McClatchy. I am 31 will be 32 this coming year but can not be prouder of feeling the connection with you due to the closeness in age and remembering your name as you exceled at Sac High and in the NBA. You were then and still are very inspiring to me and allot of others. Thank you so much for sticking it out through the elections process even though it was difficult. And a special thank you for voting at the Sacramento Childrens Home, that also ment alot to me.
