Sacramento—Mayoral candidate Kevin Johnson today added another law enforcement name to his endorsement list. The Peace Officers Research Association of California and The Valley Chapter of PORAC proudly endorsed Johnson for Mayor of Sacramento.
“PORAC prides itself on carefully scrutinizing the qualifications of every candidate,” said PORAC President Ron Cottingham. “Kevin will be an excellent representative for our county, especially in regards
to the issues involving public safety. We are proud to endorse Kevin Johnson as the next mayor of
Sacramento.”
PORAC is a professional federation of local, state and federal law enforcement associations. With more than 790 member organizations, representing over 62,000 officers, PORAC is the largest statewide law
enforcement association in California and the largest statewide law enforcement association in the nation.
The Valley Chapter PORAC is proud to serve 6,200 law enforcement officers covering Alpine County to Yuba County.
“It is with a strong sense of pride that I inform you that the Valley Chapter of the Peace Officers Research
Association of California has endorsed Kevin’s candidacy for Mayor of the City of Sacramento,” said
Steve Walker, President of the Valley Chapter of PORAC.
“At a time when Sacramento is facing a rising crime rate, to receive the endorsement of PORAC, including
their Valley Chapter, is exciting for me. PORAC plays a critical role in the public safety of all citizens, something I am committed to. I am honored and humbled to receive PORAC’s endorsement,” said Johnson.
Johnson also received the endorsement of the Sacramento County Probation Association, according to President, William Harper, Jr.
Last month, Johnson received the endorsement of the Sacramento Police Officers’ Association and the
Sacramento Deputy Sherriffs’ Association.
