Today, the Johnson campaign announced additional endorsements received this week. The Sacramento Observer and the Latino Journal joined the Sacramento Union as local publications that have endorsed Kevin Johnson. In addition, the Johnson campaign announced the support of a number of Sacramento’s
regional leaders, bulking up his already impressive list of area endorsers. Joining Johnson’s camp today are: Assemblyman Roger Niello, former County Supervisor Sandy Smoley, Elk Grove City Councilman Jim Cooper, State Senator David Cox, West Sacramento City Councilperson Mark Johannessen, and Karen Young, the Vice President of the Board of Education for Sacramento City
Unified School District.
Said Johnson, “I believe that to solve the problems that plague Sacramento,
we need to look regionally. Our problems don’t stop at the city line. That’s
why I look forward to working hand in hand with leaders from across the
county and throughout the region. And I am so grateful for the support I’ve
received from this powerful group.”
