"Nearly two-thirds of Sacramento voters in the election signaled they want change. It's clear they want our city to move in a new direction with a new mayor that has the passion and energy to move us forward. That's what my campaign will continue to be about.
"I've been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support I've received since election day, including new backing from many that have been sitting on the fence during the first phase of the campaign.. Contributions also are coming in at a significant pace as more and more citizens believe change is on its way.
"Even though the dog days of summer are almost here, I will continue to run an energetic and positive campaign in all of our city's neighborhoods. There will be no vacation in our campaign to make Sacramento a better community for all of us."
