Governor's Executive Order on State Workers Addressed

Kevin Johnson released a statement today addressing Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's executive order, which would reduce state worker salaries to the federal minimum wage until the state budget is in place. “Sacramento’s troubled economy can’t withstand the blow of thousands of state workers being paid minimum wage," Johnson said. "This should be a wake-up call for the state’s leaders to reach a compromise and pass a balanced budget that protects our schools and aid to our city.”
