Sacramento council moves budget analyst proposal toward ballot

Sacramento Bee: The Sacramento City Council voted Tuesday night to move forward with placing Mayor Kevin Johnson's proposal for an independent budget analyst on the June 8 ballot. The council will finalize the action later this month.
The budget analyst would report to the council, providing advice on the city's budget and taking on a role similar to the state's Legislative Analyst's Office.
